Durante a 6ª Assembleia Mundial da Campanha Global pela Educação, que ocorreu entre os dias 16 e 18 de novembro, em Katmandu, Nepal, representantes de organizações educacionais de 87 países assinaram moção contra a censura a professores.

A moção foi proposta pela Campanha Latinoamericana pelo Direito à Educação (Clade), e alerta sobre proposta semelhante vinda extrema direita Alternativa para a Alemanha, que promove campanha para que estudantes filmem as aulas no país.
“Estudantes são incentivados a filmar suas aulas e viralizam publicações nas redes sociais, acusando injustamente professoras e professores de proselitismo ideológico, cientificismo e estímulo à sexualização de crianças e jovens”, afirmam os signatários do documento.
As entidades pedem ainda que os Estados “resistam a estas tendências regressivas e refutem estas práticas persecutórias e violadoras de direitos humanos, que têm o controle como princípio e finalidade”. E defendem que a educação deve ser pública, gratuita, laica, inclusiva e de qualidade para todos, capaz de promover a cidadania e colaborar para a realização plena de todas as pessoas.
