No dia 20 de dezembro, a Confederação Nacional dos Trabalhadores em Educação (CNTE) acompanhará uma reunião do Fórum Permanente, convocada pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC), para discutir a atualização do Piso Salarial Nacional para os profissionais do Magistério Público da Educação Básica, momento em que deverá definir o valor para 2018.
O Piso do Magistério tem seu reajuste anual vinculado ao crescimento percentual do custo aluno do de Manutenção e Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica e de Valorização dos Profissionais da Educação (FUNDEB), e, tendo o mesmo sido registrado em 6,8177%, entre 2016 e 2017, o valor a ser praticado em 2018 deverá ser de R$ 2.455,52.

No dia 30 de novembro foi publicado, no Diário Oficial da União, o ajuste do valor mínimo anual do FUNDEB, para o ano de 2017. O valor per capita passou de R$ 2.875,03 para R$ 2.926,56, em razão de ajustes nas receitas do Fundo e nas matrículas do nível básico.
